This is an illustration portfolio piece that I've been wanting to tackle for years. It's really a second attempt at a concept I came up with back in 2007 ("Prison in the Sky". I really liked the idea of a prison without walls, gravity being the only guard, but I thought my composition and rendering were pretty bad in my first attempt.
I think this new version is finally doing the concept some justice. I was very happy with the sense of scale and atmosphere and I'm pleased with how the gesture and rendering ended up.
